Program Overview
This patch program provides a framework for troops to celebrate Galentine’s Day with activities that foster friendships and build important life skills. Scouts can participate in themed events such as a friendship brunch, crafting Galentine’s cards, or creating SWAPs (Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere). Each activity aligns with badge requirements for all Girl Scout levels, making it a perfect addition to badgework!
Suggested Activities for Badge Integration
Daisies (Grades K-1):
Earn the Making Friends Petal by practicing friendship skills and creating "Thank You for Being My Friend" notes.
Brownies (Grades 2-3):
Work towards the Making Friends Badge by role-playing friendship scenarios and designing decorations for a troop brunch.
Juniors (Grades 4-5):
Complete the Social Butterfly Badge by learning table manners, hosting the event, and creating a "Compliments Jar" where girls share kind notes with one another.
Cadettes (Grades 6-8):
Explore the Science of Happiness Badge by learning how gratitude and kindness improve well-being. Older scouts can lead activities like building a "Gratitude Tree" where everyone adds what they appreciate about their friendships.
Seniors (Grades 9-10):
Work toward the Girltopia Badge by discussing empowering friendships and leading activities for younger scouts, such as a photo booth or friendship bracelet-making station.
Ambassadors (Grades 11-12):
Earn the Your Voice, Your World Badge by organizing a workshop on cultivating meaningful friendships or writing letters to Girl Scout sisters in other troops to promote kindness and connection.
